Dr Mohammad Asif Iqubal: Biography
Dr Mohammad Asif Iqubal obtained his B.Sc. (Chemistry Hons.) and M.Sc. (Chemistry) from Calcutta University. He received his PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in 2017 under the supervision of Professor Kamaluddin. His area of doctoral research was Material Chemistry and Catalysis.
He was also actively involved in interdisciplinary research regarding the origin of life on the Earth and the outer solar system. He has successfully completed a research project given by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Department of Space, Government of India, during his PhD tenure. He was awarded Junior research fellowship by ISRO and Senior research fellowship by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. He was selected as one of the 11 candidates to give an oral talk in the “Space Factor” contest in European Astrobiology Network Association Conference (EANA 2016), held on Athens, Greece.
He was given the best thesis award, by Sir John Mason Trust, United Kingdom. He was given three travel awards to participate in the overseas (Greece and United Kingdom) conference to present his research work. He has delivered his speech as an invited speaker in the reputed conference of his field of expertise held on Eugenides Foundation Athens, Greece and The Open University, United Kingdom. Dr Iqubal has published twenty research publications so far in the international journals of high repute.
After receiving his Ph.D., he is now actively involved in the work related to food analysis and research. He is presently leading the R & D section of Interfield laboratories, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. He has recently been selected as AOAC India president of the Visakhapatnam chapter in Netpro. Fan (Network of Professional of Food and Nutrition), a platform facilitated by food safety and standards authority of India (FSSAI) to leverage the collective strengths of the professional associations and bodies in food and nutrition, to foster innovations and enhance complementarities.
