ISRO-Young Scientist Programme for 10th std. | युविका | YUva VIgyan KAryakram (युविका)-2020

We all, one or the other time, imagine ourselves being an aspiring scientist. here is a chance to explore the various aspects related to becoming a scientist in a space agency. Indian Space Research Agency ISRO is organising a young scientist programmeYuva Vigyan Karyakram this year and is supposed to be continued for the upcoming years as well. The programme is launched with the name युविका which holds the initials of the programme title,i.e “YUva VIgyan KArykram.”

 

The focus of the programme is to stimulate young minds according to the upcoming opportunities in space technology. The programme will try to focus on the basic understanding of space technology, space science and the applications of these technologies in the field of aerospace industry.

Important Points-

  • The programme will last for two weeks, possibly during the summer holidays.
  • The programme will include invited talks of various eminent Scientists.
  • The programme will also include Lab visits.
  • Most likely only three students will be selected from each UT/State.
  • Students of any board (CBSE, ICSE or any State Board) are eligible to participate.
  • The programme is only for those who have passed the 9th std. in the academic year 2019-2020 and have joined or are going to join 10th std. in the academic year 2020-2021.
  • The selection is based on the performance in the 8th std. and extracurricular activities.
  • Special weightage will be given to those from rural areas.
  • The online registration will be given done from 3rd February 2020 (1800hrs) to 24th April 2020 (1800hr). Click Here for Online Registration.

This summer programme is one of the excellent opportunities young minds can get. It is highly recommended to everyone who has joined 10th Std. to apply. The selected students will be asked to send the relevant certificates on or before 23 March, 2020. After verifying the relevant certificates the final selection list will be published on 30 March, 2020.
